CAN or Digital?
Both sensors can be used for assembly and picking systems and have the same basic functions. The digital sensors are easier to integrate if the control software for a PLC is to be created by the customer.
The CAN sensors have advantages for larger P2L systems (> 10 sensors), because you don’t need to connect every sensor separately to a controlling PLC. Instead, the sensors are connected to each other like a chain. The wiring is thus considerably reduced. In addition, the CANductor Software developed by InSystems Automation is available for the CAN sensors, which represents a ready-to-use and easy-to-use solution to control the P2L system. When using the CANductor software and the USB-CAN adapter set, there is no need for a PLC to control the P2L system. The CAN sensors can also be controlled using many preset commands and offer extended setting options.
The ESD versions of the sensors are provided with an electrically dissipative housing coating to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD). The housings are grounded via the GND pin of the connecting cables. When correctly mounted, these sensors are also electrically conductive when connected to the mounting table or similar.
The ESD versions of the sensors can offer safety from component damage due to ESD, especially in electronics production.
The P2L sensor is easy to install and can be easily integrated into existing assembly workstations. We offer customer-specific integrations on request. The sensor is fixed on a suitable mounting plate or bracket (not included in the scope of delivery) using two screws and must be mounted in such a way that the grab range is within the maximum range of 150 mm, optimally at 100 mm. Two M4 screws with a minimum length of 10 mm are required. For the ESD versions, you need two additional toothed lock washers (DIN 6797).
