Connection of the digital sensors
The control of the digital sensors is usually realized with a PLC. The PLC program for the control can be programmed by the customer. You can also contact InSystems Automation and discuss the planned application with us. We will then prepare a suitable offer for you.
The sensors themselves are connected individually to your system.

Connection of the CAN sensors
The CAN sensors are connected in series with 4-pin cables and M8 DIN connectors (cables are available separately in different lengths in the InSystems Shop). Up to 127 sensors can be connected together in one system (limited by the number of possible addresses).
Power is also supplied in series via the CAN connection lines.
Both connection sockets of each CAN sensor can be used as input or output for voltage and signal. Therefore, no alignment has to be observed during connection.

Connection mode 1: Using the InSystems USB-CAN adapter set
If you use the InSystems USB-CAN adapter set (required when you use the InSystems CANductor software), the first (or last) sensor in the chain is connected to the adapter using the cable provided. The adapter is then connected to the USB port of the PC for control. The adapter should also be attached to the mounting shelf/table with screws or cable ties.
The power supply included in the adapter set is connected to the other end of the sensor chain with the appropriate cable. Please also fasten the power supply additionally to the mounting rack/table.

Connection mode 2: Using a PLC
Use our P2L CAN sensors without adapter, integrate them into your PLC system yourself.
After wiring, the sensors must be correctly connected to the inputs and outputs of the PLC. The following illustrations show the assignment of the connections on the connector and on the wires of the cable, which have different colors.
